JINTANA FOOD CO., LTD  was established on January 14th, 1993 with a registered capital of Baht 15 million for the production of candies under the ”Jelfy” Brand.  The company is owned by two main groups of shareholders, the Nanapan Group, which is the main shareholder, and the Osotspa Group.  Following discussions among the company‘s directors, the business was further expanded by raising registered capital to Baht 65 million, opening the way to many more opportunities.  In addition, the company received Board of Investment promotional privileges on September 8th, 1995.
The new highly modern factory and production facility of Jintana Food is located on an area of 5 acres within Industrial Zone 3, Kabinburi Industrial Zone, Prachinburi province.  The company has also received financial support valued at Baht 80 million from the Industrial Finance Corporation of Thailand, the  Export Import Bank of Thailand and Siam City Bank Public Company Limited.

UNTAPPED POTENTIAL IN THE CANDY MARKET

Thailand’s market for gummy candy is worth between Baht 400-500 million annually.  The average rate of market growth stands at around 25 percent per year.  It is anticipated that the market of candies in Thailand will continue to grow.  In developed countries the market for soft and hard candies is split in the ratio 80:20.  Marketing and sales strategies consequently concentrate on expanding marketing operations and continuously improving products.  The company continually invests in advertising campaigns to promote awareness of its candies in existing and new market areas.

Exports have also increased progressively with new product orders from overseas arriving every day.  Currently, Jintana Food exports to Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Lebanon, Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam.   Plans exist to penetrate markets in the Middle East, the U.S., Canada and Japan in the near future.
